I confirmed this with the hotel today and the tickets go on sale Monday April 17, 2006

I am planning to attend with Mrs. Sammy Davis jr. since this may in some way be the last time he performs like this in Las Vegas since now that he is 80years young.

Joe, do you think he would cancel at the last minute?

Considering his medical condition, I would be very cautious. I would hate to blow at least a thousand bucks for shows and a room and car and airfare and all the stuff that goes with it and find he couldn't make it. He cancelled in the past when he was healthy!

It was my understanding that this performance was a deal-breaker in brining the Telethon to Las Vegas according to some articles we have posted. I would highly doubt a cancellation for anything other than a health related illness or family death myself, at the risk of the Orleans Casino owner reneging on the Telethon deal!

A guy in charge of The Orleans is also a vp of the MDA. Hmmmm!!

Interesting Joe. Maybe JL gave him the honor of Vice President because of the contract.

As far as I know right now it is confirmed that he will be doing this show
I for one would hate for any of you to miss this last chance to see him preform in person maybe for the last time in his life on stage as he as done for well over 50 years in showbusiness.

Of course he won't be performing. It will be just like a seminar. He will sit and take questions and answers from the audience and show film clips. But that's all fine with me. I don't expect him to tap dance anymore!

Joe, That's not what I heard from the Orleans.

It will be a real show with him sing and possibly dancing but mostly funny stuff he will be doing.
Not like the seminars at all; but like it use to be with Sammy Davis jr.


I did ask that question about what the show was all about.

i live in los angeles and i plan on going. i already have a hotel reservation, and i prefer to go single although my son may come along.

maybe one of the group could call the hotel and see if the group could get a block of seats so we could sit together.

Jerry singing and dancing? I doubt that. Don't get me wrong, I think that will be great. I just can't picture that anymore. He has a problem walking! He has been showing clips for years now and he will still do that. Q&A from the audience and joking around. I'm happy with that. I've seen his nightclub show going back over 30 years now. He can't do it anymore, just like he doesn't have the stamina to direct a movie let alone a Broadway show.
I was contacted by the lady in Brazil also. She says she will go even though there is a chance he could cancel for medical reasons.

Joe is right. You've got to be realistic folks. He's 80 years old; needs to use a wheelchair and has shortness of breath.

You REALLY think he's going to be singing and dancing? Believe me, I wish he could. But I just don't see that happening at this point. Be thankful that he's still able to go out on stage and appear in person.

i am going to go if i can get tix for Sat night. Going to take my dad!

i remember kathleen freeman said in an interview 'just tell jerry lewis he can't do something and watch it happen'

so we'll see.

I can see him singing but not dancing--if he did dance it might be a little soft shoe. It sounds like it would be fun. On the other hand, even if he didn't do alot of performing--I would love to see the clips and JL take questions from the audience.

I just now saw this post, and I sent you an email. I am only 5 hours from Vegas by car. We had been checking the Orleans list for when the tickets would go on sale every day. We are definately going to Vegas, and hopefully, will get to see Jerry one more time.

A lot of you were in the same place at the same time during JL's book tour but didn't try to meet each other. I hope this time you folks will get together and at least say "hello" and take a few photos to post here. Oh, and be sure to tell us all about it, too. Those of us who aren't able to do such things will be so happy for you and will love to hear your stories.Oh, yeah!!!!!

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing but I called the ticket office. She said many people call and are hesitant about buying tickets because of the possible cancellation from him, but they are still selling tickets. She says they normally know about a week in advance if someone is cancelling, but this show 'is definitely on'. Show tickets are non refundable unless the performer cancels. The hotel rooms need 72 hours notice if you want your money back. So I guess if he cancels that night you pay for a room and airfare but not the show

as much as I love Jerry I decided Im going even if he cancels....

I'll also be seeing Mr. Manilow, and probably make a stop at the Star Trek Experience at the LV Hilton, not to mention my favorite Rest (same as Jerry's) Pierros!

Has anyone ever stayed at the Orleans? I'll be staying there... I'm curious as to how it is...

i am flying in Friday night, seeing the show Saturday and flying home suday am...

so any meeting needs to be Saturday....maybe AFTER the show?

what if we get a list of who is going and mail a letter to Jerry's Staff....maybe, just maybe if we show him who we are and what we do...we could get a 10min meet and greet?

I have friends who have stayed there and thought it was nice. As for dirty, I was in the White House once. The oustide of the building was disgusting. It should have been called the Gray House. Needed paint and scraping very badly.
I thought about seeing other shows but I figured most anyone I would want to see would be there anytime. We all know this might be the last of JL. This will bring my Lewis total to 21 I think.
Definitely should get together at some point. I wonder who would be the shortest?

If you don't meet each other, this is going to be one very disappointed old lady.

Since people who are planning to attend have posted photos, it shouldn't be too hard for you to spot each other. I think Helene had an excellent idea - make a definite plan. Joe, since you're going to be there all four nights, you should be able to meet every one of our members who attends.

Please, guys, take your cameras! We could start a thread here, and each of you could post several of your best ones. Oh, what a treat!

You folks are sure tempting me to go. I would be able to see just the Sat show, but wow, a chance for me, the shortest? (5'2") to hug Joe in public, and meet Helene, Jeanette, etc. Even if he cancels, just all of us meeting for a short time and getting my picture taken hugging Joe might make the trip worthwhile.

You guys have no idea how much you're making me wanna go and i'm stuck in stupid London.....
Just think how cool it will be to actually meet eachother?! Crazy! And Joe & Helene will be sitting next to eachother, that's just hilarious!

I just made a list of the dates and times of those attending. As new ones report in, I'll add to my list and will post a complete one by July 1. Of course, Joe will get to meet everyone who goes since he'll be there all four nights. Lucky Joe!

Mrs. Enigma and I are reviewing our budget and see if we can come for Friday and Saturday night and then fly back home on Sunday afternoon. Things on this end are a little tight since the birth of the baby and some mild health issues. Keep your fingers crossed!
